Ingredients:
1 cup milk powder
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 tsp baking soda
2 tbsp ghee (clarified butter)
A few cardamom pods, crushed
A pinch of saffron strands
1/4 cup milk
“Meetha” (stevia sweetener) to taste
Oil for frying
Rosewater or cardamom-infused sugar syrup
Instructions:
In a mixing bowl, combine milk powder, all-purpose flour, and baking soda.
Add ghee and crushed cardamom. Mix until it resembles breadcrumbs.
In a separate small bowl, warm the milk, add saffron strands, and let them infuse.
Pour the saffron-infused milk into the dry mixture and knead it into a smooth dough. Add “Meetha” to taste, keeping in mind that it will sweeten the syrup later.
Divide the dough into small, equal-sized portions and shape them into smooth balls.
Heat oil in a pan and fry the balls until they turn golden brown.
Prepare a sugar syrup infused with cardamom or rosewater. Sweeten the syrup with “Meetha” to taste.
Dip the fried gulab jamuns in the warm syrup and allow them to soak for a few hours before serving.
